MICROMINE on tour in nation’s capital

Micromine Product Strategy Manager Mark Gabbitus and Geobank Product Strategy Manager Ian Whitehouse visited Canberra this week to catch up with Geoscience Australia to discuss synergies and data integration projects. We received an update from the guys below.

The foyer at the Geoscience offices was worth the trip alone and included some really cool artefacts showing some of the history of geology in Australia.

We spent some time at the national earthquake and tsunami warning monitoring room, we could have stood there all day watching it.

We also had a look at the new GA web portal for data delivery.

We had a bit of time before our flight to Brisbane so we had a quick visit to the National War Memorial, an amazing experience.

Note the memorial to war dogs at the end, really nice touch with the statue that there is a dog water bowl against the wall as part of the statue.

We then did a quick stop in at Parliament to see how our WA GST dollars are being spent.

Note the last photo was taken as we came out of parliament, massive dust storm from the drought in NSW blowing in over the ACT.
